Manufacturing a new product

It is a lot of work to start a factory from the ground up, especially if you are making a product that is not common in Australia. Luckily these days there is a lot more support online and it can be really useful for entrepreneurs to talk to other people who have started manufacturing in Australia rather than going overseas. This blog has a range of handy resources for people who are looking to manufacture a new product in Australia, including links to industry groups, government associations and technical resources that can help to maximise your chances of starting a successful manufacturing operation.

The best way to clean your pvc doors

PVC doors are a popular choice because they combine strength and durability with good insulation. It is important to keep them clean if they are to retain their appearance and condition. Here is a quick guide to cleaning a PVC door.

Vacuum the frame

Dirt will quickly begin to build up inside the frame of the door and also around the hinges, particularly if it is an outside door. This must be removed if the door is to continue to work properly. The simplest way to do this is by vacuuming the door. Use a crevice tool nozzle attachment to get into the corners and remove as much of the dirt as possible.

Brush off the dirt

You should also remove any dirt that has built up on the door itself. Dirt and muck can easily get stuck to the front of the door because of wind and rain. This is best removed with a brush. Use a soft-bristled brush that will not damage the surface of the door itself, and don't worry about stubborn dirt as this will be washed off later.

Wash the door

Next, you should wash the surface of the door. This is best done with a solution of warm soapy water. Avoid harsh chemicals such as bleach or white spirit, as these can damage the PVC finish. You should use a soft microfibre cloth to wipe the door. Again, avoid anything harsh such as scourers or steel wool, as these can cause scratches. If the dirt refuses to come off, just soak it and wipe it further. The water will dislodge it eventually.

Rinse the door

After you have washed the door, you should rinse it down to remove all the soap. Clean water is all you need to do this. Don't worry too much about drying the door as the water will run off and dry in the air. The soapy water could leave streaks in the finish if it is not washed off properly.

Clean the hinges

Finally, make sure the hinges are clean and lubricated. The best way to do this is to use a silicone spray. Wipe off any excess and make sure that the hinges move smoothly and are securely fixed in place.

Regularly cleaning your PVC doors will ensure that they remain in good condition and protect your home for many years to come. Your supplier will be able to give you further advice on how to maintain these doors.
